Several "Electrical Devices"-branded ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) receptacle models have been voluntarily recalled. The affected products are exclusively available and sold by Home Hardware and Home Hardware Building Centre stores (collectively "Home Hardware stores") in Canada.
There has been one incident of a melted unit. Unsecured terminal screws pose a burn and/or fire hazard to consumers.
Approximately 650,000 units are affected in Canada, sold between 2015 and 2025. The products were exclusively available and sold by Home Hardware stores. The devices are manufactured in China.

Determine if your particular GFCI receptacle is among those recalled. Check for the following indicators:
Consumers should immediately stop using the GFCI receptacle.
If your product is unopened, simply return to any Home Hardware store for a refund.
If your product is installed, follow the downloadable instructions below to uninstall the receptacle and return it to any Home Hardware store for a refund. Follow all electrical safety precautions before performing any work around and with electrical devices.
